SUNDAY--MOTHERS' DAY

After my usual Sunday obligation*--weekly med and crossword puzzle--I walked with my cart and cane to the bus stop to get the 10/16 to Ojai. Ellen picked me up at the Von's stop at noon and off we went to her place. We spent a pleasant hour chatting, then enjoyed the yummy lunch she had made, a good ground meat, cabbage, onions, cheese, and spices stir-fry and cucumber salad.

We then drove over to her soon-to-be new home (assuming all goes well) and what a surprise! I had seen pictures on Zillow, but they didn't  do it justice. Her present house has three bedrooms, this has two, but it has more square footage. Why? Because the room are much larger. The living area, with large windows is in kind of an L-shape that flows into a dining area, which flows into the kitchen.  And that kitchen is to die for: white with black trim and a center island roughly six feet long. One end is a good-sized dining area and at one end of the living room is what could be another.

The primary bedroom is off the first area and the primary bathroom opens from that. Nearby is the other bedroom; the second bath is nearby and also is a guest bath. The whole place is newly done--I like the floors especially--and all the windows are new.

There are some items of concern, but El is negotiating with the owners to resolve them, just as she has had to remedy some problems for the buyers of her present house. Anyway, the deals are close to fruition and I fervently hope she gets the place. If so, she will pay cash and her living expenses will be roughly half what they are now.

We went back to her house and sat chatting on the porch with Margaritas. Greg came over about 3:00 and after good conversation, we put on our gin rummy hats and played until the Access Ven came to take me home. Got in at 6:00 after a very enjoyable Mothers' Day.

*Why does that phrase seem so familiar? 😄

FRIDAY--I'M IN AND SO IS THE GESTOPO

Hey, I gotta say, it wasn't a bad day. Home, I had lost 1.2  (to 129.4) and at T.O.P.S., I was down 1.1 to 130.2. Incredibly, I was the ...
