SATURDAY, MAY 18, 2025

DAMN! I had first published this entry when I got up, then noted a typo, reverted to draft, and updated it. It posts, all right, but it posts as May 17, instead of the eighteenth, which is why I put the correct date in the title. I don't know why or how to change it, and I guess the world is still turning, but it's so annoying.

As promised, I called Jeanne after breakfast and we had a good long talk discussing the reunion picture. Although there were only twenty  alumni there (husbands, including mine, either graduated in a different year or went to different schools), neither of us could remember all the names. I'll check my yearbook and see who else I can identify--once I can find it, that is. Annoyingly, I can't remember where I put it. Will keep looking.

Jeanne and I also exchanged family news. We both have gay granddaughters and she texted me a pic of hers at her bridal shower; she'll marry her fiancée in the summer. The brides-to-be are in the middle, Jeanne's granddaughter in white, and their mothers are next to them.*

It's so very refreshing that differing sexual orientations are accepted, even embraced. If anyone tried to force me to be gay, I'd fight like crazy, but why is it anyone's business if others are gay? Of course, if someone follows a sect or group that declares it to be sinful, that's their problem.

I spent a lot of time the rest of the day on cleaning up the place, as I'm having Suzanne and Vickie over this evening for Happy Hour. Washed the bath rugs, dusted and mopped the hard floors, vacuumed, dusted the furniture, and otherwise prepared for my little soiree. Went over to Von's (I should sleep there!) for shrimp and a few other things to serve. Met Lorraine in the way and chatted for a bit.

In the evening, I called Ellen and was happy to hear things are going well with her house sale and house purchase. Can't wait to see the inside of her new place.

* Their MOTHERS?!?  They all look like teenagers!

FRIDAY--I'M IN AND SO IS THE GESTOPO

Hey, I gotta say, it wasn't a bad day. Home, I had lost 1.2  (to 129.4) and at T.O.P.S., I was down 1.1 to 130.2. Incredibly, I was the ...
