Oh, boy, am I off my routine. It's almost 8;:00 and I just got up to see an entirely blank screen. I always chronicle the events of my day in the evening, then top it off the next morning. Yesterday, I just didn't, so here's a quick rundown:
Ellen got here at noon and we started clearing the living room. All right, I shouldn't say "we" because she virtually did it all herself. I certainly wasn't that I refused to help--she actually asked me not to. I can certainly understand that and I acquiesced, rather than get in her way. Good grief, what an incredible number of artifacts I've accumulated! So many of them are of sentimental value or just nice things to look at, rather than "useful." Today, I'm going to go over them and put aside as much as I can to donate.
We went to Two Trees for lunch and greatly enjoyed it. Back home, El tackled the bedroom while I watched the chronicles of the Royal Family and the disappearance on a cruise ship of a young woman named Amy Bradley. She (Ellen, not Amy) finished up about 5:00, then left with many thanks from her grateful Mama.
Had leftover Cole slaw from lunch and pad Thai from Thursday, stayed up until almost 10:00, then turned in...
...but not for long. I woke up for the usual at 3:00 and as soon as I opened my eyes, realized something was amiss: It was totally dark; no little electronic lights were shining and at first, I thought I had gone blind. No, the bedside lamp wasn't working--the electricity had gone out. Luckily, my phone is right on the table and I was able to use that to get to the bathroom. I looked out and saw there was total darkness outside, too. Went back to bed and a few minutes later, the lights came on--whew! Foolishly, I got up, played my game for an hour or so, then went back.
