FRIDAY AND CYPRESS PLACE

Weight at home: up .06 to 130.8; T.O.P.S.: up .07 to 132.2. Okay, not too bad, but I can't pretend the results are good, since my comfort zone is 125 to 130. Of course, I didn't go last week, so at least I didn't gain much over two weeks. Ha! Mimi, you're kidding yourself--you're supposed to be losing weight, remember?

Anyway, besides Cheryl and me, only Maryann and our new member, Katherine, came and we kept it nicely short. We won't be meeting next week because Trinity Lutheran will be closed and Lennie will still be in North Dakota; she's the only T.O.P.S. member who has a key. I said I'd call and tell Sharon.

Home, had breakfast--some turkey stir-fry I had in the freezer--then took a half-hour nap. Washed my  sheets while I showered, then re-made. After, I puttered around for a bit before Stella picked me up at 3:00 and off we went to Cypress Place. I hadn't been too enthusiastic about it, but it turned out to be very enjoyable. I think most of the better independent living places are very much the same, especially when it comes to the entertainment agenda and other amenities. This was the weekly "wine and music" gathering that featured a pianist playing the old time--Sinatra, Beatles, Nat King Cole, Elvis--standards, plus movie and show tunes.

While we were seated on casually group comfortable chairs and sofas, we were served drinks (I had chardonnay) and nibbles. After, Stella and I chatted with some of the residents. It seems pretty standard and has the advantage of a very attractive middle area with a pond, waterfall, lilies, and so on. This picture from the web site doesn't do it justice:  It's not as expensive as The Townhomes and some of the others and it's older, but still very pleasant.

Stella suggested we go to Jasmine Thai for dinner, which we did. I had my favorite pad Thai and a Sapporo (Japanese wine). Had a good time, then home by 7:00. El called to see if I still needed her to help clear things away in preparation for the carpet cleaners, who are coming Tuesday. Not  sure--we'll talk about it.

SUNDAY, A SHOW AND A DRIP

Showered and washed my hair, then changed the bed and re-made. Wasn't hungry for a full breakfast, so just had a half-grapefruit, then  ...
