SUNDAY

Washed sheets and changed beds and that was the high point of the day. El posted a number of pics on Facebook and I'll be adding them here as they arrive. Here we are:

Really lazed around most of the day. Did some minor housework and took a nap. I had some fresh chicken breasts and I spiced and seasoned them with a favorite recipe, then simmered in the crockpot. 

I intended to have my lunch in the middle, but there was a little birthday party going on, so I sat in another leafy area. Pat R. and I exchanged emails and she added her picture--love it!  

Did a little food prep with some fresh chicken breasts, following one of my favorite recipes: You combine a number of seasonings--paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and garlic salt--to make a rub--lightly rub it on the chicken, then put it in the slow cooker for several hours. It calls chicken broth, too, but I didn't have any and just used water and it was still delicious. Had one for dinner, and naturally, stowed the rest in the freezer for another day.

Texted Ellen to see if she got to the Ojai gathering. However, she had driven past the sign and said there were only a few there, so she skipped it. We assume most had attended the Ventura one.

Today is the third Monday, so dinner with the Soaring Spirits gang and I'm trying to decide whether to go or not. Damn, I should have called the Access Van yesterday, but I didn't. I could ask Vera to pick me up--she always takes me home--but I feel a little uncomfortable about that. The alternative is to take the bus, as usual, but I'm not sure if I want to. Maybe I'll ask Vickie if she might want to go. I know she'll be welcome, as we don't discriminate. Hmm...I'll mull it over.
