Primary Medical called in the morning to inform me I'll soon get a call from a medical device place in Camarillo and they'll send me a walker for no charge (Medicare pays for it). But I want to see and test out other kinds, especially the one Ellen found on-line, which allows you to stand upright. It's two hundred bucks, but if I like it better, I'll pay it. Maybe I'll ask the place in Camarillo if Medicare will pay half.
Coincidentally, Sharon called shortly after to tell me about some places that far away that carry them. She mentioned our mutual friend from T.O.P.S., Bobbi, and I called her. We east-coasters had a good talk, except when I asked about the cancer she's had for awhile. I had forgotten what type it was (originally breast cancer) and she said, "Everywhere." It's in her bones, her kidneys, her sternum and lately, her shoulder.. I'm no doctor, but that sounds like the worst news there could be. She's also down to 117 pounds and she's about my height, 5'2" and that's much too thin. Anyway, she's getting chemo by injection and I fervently hope there's some progress.
Got emails from Pat R. regarding her fall in the restroom at a supermarket. Because her blog, which I had read everyday, is out of commission for a time, I'm glad to keep up with her that way. Hopefully, she'll have recovered from the accident shortly.
Ellen called and we had a good, long talk about plans for today (dentist, lunch, errands) and for the weekend: She'll pick me up on Saturday, we'll do various, then I'll stay over to Sunday--YAY! Her renovations are almost finished, including the CATIO, her bedroom with new bedframe, window treatments, and so on. Can't wait to see it!
Aside from the above, nothing much went on, aside from Sharon calling me several more times (she likes to talk). She sent me pictures of Lewis's "bike," which he has in the driveway with his mascot in the back:
Cute, but maybe should have a better perspective re the passenger.
Note: When I pressed "Publish," I was informed that the time posted will be changed to 9:13 am, although it's now actually 9:10. WHY--EE???
