Things are looking up. Although I'm not much of a TV fan, lately, I've gotten into the habit of sometimes watching in the daytime. After dinner, I alternate between it and the laptop, unless I have a date or am cooking. It's been down since Friday, which was annoying, so I called Yondoo. After somebody there tried to walk me through--that'll be the day--they sent "Adrian" out and he fixed it. In credibly, there was no charge, but I gave him a twenty buck tip.
I haven't watched cable T.V. for maybe a year (I certainly wouldn't pollute my brain with what passes for news) and was surprised to hear I'm paying about fifty bucks a month for it. The repair guy, Adrian, said I could drop it and I might do that and just keep the Netflix, Prime, etc. for which I also pay extra.
Other than that, it was pretty quiet. I thought I might venture on the bus to Soaring Spirits dinner, but changed my mind. I have to ponder a lot of things and, although I like the members very much and enjoy going, I'm going to cool it for now--or that's what I thought...
...but late in the afternoon, Vera texted me that she'd be out front at 5:45. I had completely forgotten that at S.S. lunch last time, she'd volunteered to do that for both lunch and dinner every two weeks. What a a relief! However, life is fleeting and I was dismayed to hear Vera might be moving back to her native Oregon, which she doesn't want to do. It's a long story I won't go into, but it involves the sale of the house she's renting, a sad family history, and her younger sister's feeling of abandonment. Good grief, I'd miss her so much.
Last night was fun, though. There were only four others besides Vera and me and we fell into our usual enjoyable chatter. We stayed for almost two hours before Vera took me home and she assured me she'd continue to pick me up--at least until she moves--😞.
I have the damn dentist appointment tomorrow; SCAN Transportation will take me there and after, Ellen's going to pick me up for lunch. We will then confer on safety in the home. (Sounds like one of those movie news shorts we used to see in the forties.)
