My new printer ink was at my door less than 24 hours after I ordered it. Ellen called early to ask if I wanted her to come about 3:30 after her dance, to take me to the Presbyterian church in town, where they lend walkers to people. Sure, why not, and she came. First, she installed my new printer ink, which was at my door less than 24 hours after I ordered it and second to take me to pick up the walker. We drove to the church, and met a very nice woman named Kathleen, who handles the walker loans. The idea is to let people use them who need them for a limited time or who want to buy, but check them out ahead. Here's what I'm borrowing:

THURSDAY
I guess it's pretty standard, but I want to look at, and try, other styles. I don't want a big, bulky one, especially a rollator, although I'll see if there are options.
The fact is, I hate the idea of needing one. However, it's a lot better than risking another fall, and I'm grateful I can borrow this to get acclimated. Ellen said that when we have time, she'll take me to one of the medical device stores to check out others. Oh, that's right, I have to get a referral from Primary Medical, so I can have Medicare coverage for it. El helped me with a few other things, then left to run some of her own errands.
I then made my lunch and took it out to the middle to eat it and relax. By that time, it was 4:30, pretty late for lunch, even for me.
I have T.O.P.S. today, of course, and I'm pretty sure I've gained, but in truth, I don't really care. I'm just losing interest in the whole weight thing and am seriously thinking of taking a hiatus from T.O.P.S. It's actually beginning to bore me and does that mean I'm starting on a whole new track? Maybe.
Here's Sharon from last week's meeting. I often post her costumes here on the blog and I wasn't there last time, so she had others take it. I know she gets a big kick out of being pictured here--something like a child and I'm glad it makes her happy:
Invariably, she has theme-related earrings, too:
