Golly gee--I lost four pounds at home to 128.8 and at ;[h03.9 at T.O.P.S. to 129! However, that wasn't enough to be declared the biggest loser, as Sharon lost four. Oh, well, I'm below 130, if barely, so I'm okay with it. There were just five of us and it was the usual meandering meeting. Home at 10:30, had breakfast, then just did nothing much until I went out and Elsye picked me up at 1:00. Incredibly, she was neither the drop-out nun nor the woman who lives on Poli Street. Instead, she was one of my table mates from the BCNN lunch after the June meeting.
No matter, though, we had a good time. Elsye was born and brought up in Canada, married and moved to the U.S. and Jersey (Freehold), is Jewish, has a husband with a kidney transplant, no grandchildren. Her only child, a son, owns the Flying Trapeze in Santa Barbara, an exercise club for adults and children.
We talked and talked and talked. Much as I like California and Californians, it was refreshing to be with somebody who had actually heard of Ventnor. Elsye dropped me off at 3:30, I stopped for my and Suzanne's mail, then took a short nap.
