SATURDAY--ANOTHER BIZ, BIZ, BUSY ONE

I was dragging when I got up, but I had my coffee, a piece of bread, jumped in the shower and washed my hair, and that revived me pretty well. Good thing, because art director Meredith and her partner were taking head shots yesterday. I take horrible pictures (could I really look that wrinkled and haggard?), but he took about thirty and I hope they won't be too bad. I had sent my bio to Erica, too, so I didn't have to think more about the program. Rehearsal went well, although I continue to shake my head over the lack of sequence of some of the pieces; it's disconcerting, but I just go with the flow.

For lunch, Becky and I picked up sandwiches at Sprouts; I got a hazy IPA, too. However, they sold only 16 ounce ones and that's too much at one time for me--I go for six-ounces. I ate the sandwich and drank half the IPA, then asked who would like the rest. Zach happened to be passing and he pounced on it. Here he is on the left yesterday, with Suzy and her husband who, along with James, comprise the band trio:

Zach is the dancer with his sister, Keke, and they're soon to perform at Disneyland. And no, Suzy is not a little person but an inch or so shorter than I am and James is about 6'5, with Zach is close to it.

Erica brought in posters and I took two. I'll put one in my window and asked Ellen to do so at her place:

Speaking of Suzy, she and I have gotten acquainted (I love the band) and she urged me to apply to appear at a place called Sam's Place, a restaurant and bar in Ojai. It seems they feature visiting artists doing their thing and Suzy said she selects the talent. I'm not sure how it works, but sure, it might be fun, so I applied.

Chatted with Jonathan and asked what had brought him to California from north Jersey. He said his husband had gotten a job here, so they moved. It occurred to me how good it was to simply nod and accept, rather than to be taken aback, let alone shocked or disapproving. (Damn, every acting troupe needs at least one gay member! 😊 )

Ellen called; she and I planned to spend the day together on Wednesday; we do have tech in the evening, but I'm hoping it won't include me. Either way, I'll see her earlier. Suzanne texted Vickie and me, asking if we could come to her place for Happy Hour on Tuesday and I could recite "Heart's Desire." Great, that's my one day I'm off, so to speak, so the three of us will meet then.

Happy day, I slept like a stone last night and now I feel well-rested. Rehearsal isn't until 2:00 today (until 8:00), so I can get a few neglected things done. It's now 7:00, life is good, and "God's in His heaven/All's right with the world." (Robert Browning, "Pippa's Song")
