SUNDAY AT HOME

It was quiet, but not a bad day. Julie called and we'll go to Santa Paula Theatre for "The Cottage" next Saturday. She suggested we go to dinner first, and would I say no? That should be fun, although I'm on docent duty the next day, so I think I'll nap earlier on Saturday.

I was happy to get a call from Lora and we talked and talked. She went into some detail about her son's death and I was glad of that. Not only did I want to understand the whole scenario, but I know she needs to talk about it--I understand that completely. She also invited me to come visit her in Arizona--"you and your daughter"--and boy, I'd love to. We'll see--maybe.

Ellen called and we brought each other up to date. As Jim's birthday is tomorrow and she isn't available then, we had tentatively planned on seeing him on Wednesday, but she has a doctor's appointment and it would have had to be squeezed in. Did some household chores, then planted the pretty yellow tulips El had given me for Easter. After a color wash, I made a turkey stir-fry; had a third for dinner and froze the rest for two more meals.

I toyed with the idea of calling somebody to meet for lunch today, but decided against it. I think I'll just play it by ear--maybe walk down to Smart 'N' Final or bus to town--whatever.

Note: The Sunday crossword was a stinker--obscure references which annoyed me no end. However, I got most of it.

FRIDAY--I'M IN AND SO IS THE GESTOPO

Hey, I gotta say, it wasn't a bad day. Home, I had lost 1.2  (to 129.4) and at T.O.P.S., I was down 1.1 to 130.2. Incredibly, I was the ...
