Boy, when I get in a domestic mood, I go like a house afire! For the slow cooker, I 1.) trimmed, seeded, and chopped two big red peppers; 2.) husked and chopped two very large onions; 3.) washed and picked over two cups of dried lentils' 4.) and scrubbed and cut up several big carrots. Put all in the slow cooker and added vegetable "juice" (the water from simmering fresh veggies, which I save--it's where the nutients are strongest) and Italian seasoning, then let 'er go. It filled my larger cooker to the brim, so I had plenty to store in the freezer.
I had put in a color wash before I started and by the time I fnished with my lentil stew, the clothes were ready to go in the drier. Did that, then prepared the remaining carrots: scrubbed, cut them up, added olive oil and Italian seasoning, then roasted them in the oven on parchment paper.
Called the renters insurance person and asked her to call Libby in the office here, but she thought I could just send a copy of my policy and blah, blah, blah. Before I went completely mad, I called the office and left a message for Libby to call me so I can get a handle on it.
Had lunch, then took a short nap, which is getting to be a habit. That's okay, a long as I don't sleep any longer than a half hour or so, which I didn't. Went to get the mail and ran into Suzanne, who was going to one of her ministries, "Many Meals," and we chatted.
My pal (sigh), Lorraine, called to rattle on about this and that. Actually, I don't mind hearing from her, I just always marvel about her--well, her inability to quit concentrating on the unimportant and mundane, maybe. I called Noreen to see if she was free for lunch today, but no, it's her pinocle day, so we'll meet at Danny's Deli tomorrow.
Aside from the mail and the trash place, I didn't go anywhere. I really didn't want to, as it was chilly (high of 63) and overcast. And on the topic of weather, I came across this photo of my backyard in Jersey, talken exactly (as of yesterday) ten years ago. Pretty, isn't it, and don't I miss it? No, thanks very much, I've had enough of the white stuff to last a lifetime:
