Sat with Beverly and Al for breakfast and was pleased I was able to order poached eggs instead of the bacon and egg frittata on the menu. Doing that ensures it will be cooked to order.
At 11:00, there was a weekly question and answer session with Director Mindy. I asked about the earliness of meals and learned that many of the servers are underaged, so aren't permitted to work more than a certain number of hours--or something. Okay, I'll live with it. Mindy also mentioned the possibility of me doing an acting class and I said we'd talk about it after the new year. She discussed the Happy Hour setup on December 26, a song and dance entertainer named Tatiana whom everyone said is terrific. I'll be staying over at Ellen's, and will see if she can take me home early; Mindy said she can come, too.
Lunched--I had a loaded baked potato--with Carol and yet another Mary, both of whom seem rather somber, then went upstairs and took a short nap. Enjoyed dinner with Beverlee, the graduate grad of Columbia U., who had her own counseling practice. She specialized in treating teenagers, which must have been a trip, and had lived in upstate New York. Joining us was Elaine, a native of Collingwood, N.J., who had also lived in Linwood. Leslie sat down with us for awhile and we had some good, lively discussions and lots of laughs.
Earlier in the day, I took this pic from my front door:
Eighty-nine years ago today, for better or worse, I entered the world. Generally speaking, I'm glad I did.
