Met Diane for an early lib lunch (11:00) and we had our usual compatible time for about two hours. It was a bit chilly, though (68 degrees was the high) and it was good to get back home. While I was waiting for Ellen to come, I called UBreakIFix to see if my laptops were ready. Happily, they were and when El came, we went over and got them.
All data seems to have been satisfactorily transferred from the old one to the new, aside from the one game I've had for years--Match Royale. I bought that years ago, when I still lived in Jersey and I really like it, but guess I can live without it. I'd like to re-buy, but I looked and I doubt if they have it anymore.
Anyway, my dear El set me up with the new device, oriented me to it, and even got the printer working from the Internet--it had been so cranky before. She also promised to take me to donate to Goodwill the enormous amount of stuff I need to weed out of here. I also need to follow up on some things, plus get this apartment into shape.
Sent a birthday card to Greg, whom we'll be taking out lunch soon for his birthday. Must synchronize our schedules for that.
Yesterday was my baby boy's fifty-eighth birthday. He's still in California, now up in Cupertino, but will be flying back to Singapore on Saturday. Happy birthday, dear Mike!
