FRIDAY AND HAPPY HOUR

Early on, I impulsively decided to invite Suzanne and Vickie over for an early Happy Hour. I texted them and we decided on last evening, although it was already Friday. Looked around for something to serve and couldn't find a thing except smoked oysters. Okay, that would work, but what else did I have? Aha--eggs, so I hard-boiled some and made deviled eggs. I had pretzels, too, and the gals would bring their own drinks, so that was that.

Caught up on some bills, did a color wash, and a few other chores. Suzanne texted to ask if I'd like half a spaghetti squash. Sure thing and she brought it over, all cooked. That's what I had for lunch.

A catch-up on Thursday: I forgot to mention that I called my old friend, Irene W., with whom I had planned to meet for lunch on Thursday and asked to postpone to next week. I just felt frazzled and overwhelmed and it was supposed to rain continually for several days and I didn't feel like going out in it. Irene was okay with that and I'll call her Wednesday to lock in Thursday.

Suzanne and Vickie over, I announced my news. They expressed the usual sentiments and I told them something about The Orchard, three miles away. Of course, I'll invite them to visit when I'm settled in; I'm glad I finally made a decision, but am not  looking forward to what goes with moving.

Slept pretty well and got up to see it's continuing to rain. Good thing I have nothing scheduled until Monday, which is full: The Orchard in the morning, P.T. in Oxnard, and Soaring Spirits dinner, for which Vera will pick me up.
