Well, I must be getting cautious in my old age: After viewing the water coming from the sky and checking the forecast--continuing virtually all day--I called Roy and told him I was apprehensive about going to see Jim yesterday. It's not as if I minded the ride, but I'd have to walk to the entrance of the complex in slushy conditions and wait for the Access Van, and so on. He understood entirely, said he'd call the place where Jim is to tell them we'll come another time. I said I'd call him Monday and we'll reschedule.
I called Diane and we had a good, long talk. She loves her new place and has resumed hosting her "groups"--Buddha study and book club, plus another I can't remember. Unfortunately, her neuropathy is worsening (it's progressive), so she's having more difficulty moving around; she uses the rollator exclusively now. We both have things coming up, so we settled on next Wednesday for me to come over and see her new digs.
So what did I do, stuck inside all day? I completed the under-the-sinks project and it's okay, I guess. The big disappointment was that after all, I couldn't fit both new organizers under the bathroom one, after all. Okay, I have one in there and, since I couldn't maneuver the other one to fit in the kitchen because of the drainer, I have one more or less "left over." At this point, I can't think of any other place where it would fit--maybe I'll offer it to Ellen.
T.O.P.S. today and I'm not looking forward to it. I didn't sleep well and thought I'd call Cheryl and beg off. However, I guess I'll go and see how I do.
