Monday

Slow day. I slept well, I'm glad to record, and my physical condition has improved more. I'm still a little tentative about that, but things are better than they had been. Got a call from Ellen to see how I was feeling--I'll go over to her place tomorrow.

As I was preparing to go to Von's to again search for cleaning baking soda, Lorraine called and asked if we could meet in the middle, as the tree trimmers were near her building. I said okay, I'd stop on my way to Von's and I did.

The jury's still out as to whether I enjoy Lorraine's company or if I'd rather hang by my thumbs for three days than be with her. She is a non-stop talker and never, never interrupts herself long enough to ask about my recent doings, opinions, or anything else. She constantly complains about everything possible, has no interest in anything except her own doings--which are abysmally mundane without exception--and uses double negatives. Anyway, I chatted with her...scratch that, I listened to her...for maybe a half hour and then moved on.

Found the cleaning-sized baking soda at Von's, plus got rice and some nice big apples; I'll make applesauce today. Home, I did this and that--inconsequential, obviously--and had dinner. I called Jim's friend, Roy S., as I had promised to arrange a time for us to see Jim. Left a message.

La-di-dah--As a high-born lady, I'm getting used to ordering things from Amazon: Just sent for two under-the-sink organizers, which should arrive tomorrow. I'm also awaiting my Calcium Citrate and printer ink. I do enjoy getting things left at my door.
